We keep your email address if you join the Blockchain waitlist, to tell you about the launch. If you use the support chat, we keep what you write in it, so we can answer you. No cookies of ours, no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies, only cookie-free monitoring of page speed and errors. You can leave the list, and ask us to delete a chat, at any time.

01Who is responsible

This notice is given by Atheron Network Inc., a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada.

Write to us about your information: privacy@aton-network.org

02What we collect, and why

Listed by what you do. If you never do something, we hold nothing for it.

Visiting this site

  • Cloudflare sits in front of this site. It sees your IP address, the page you ask for and what your browser sends with the request, as any web host does.
  • Our server logs record the time, the page and how the request went, to keep the site running and secure. They do not record your address, and they are kept for 30 days.
  • The build tracker. The progress shown on this site is read by your browser from our build tracker, progress.aton-network.org, which sees the request like any web host would.
  • This site sets no cookies of its own, and carries no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.
  • We use cookie-free performance and error monitoring (Amazon CloudWatch) to keep the site fast and working. On about one visit in five, it records how long pages take to load, errors on the page, the page address (never the part after a ?), and your browser, device type and approximate country. It doesn't record who you are, and no cookies are set.
  • Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie of its own, to tell people from automated traffic. The cookie notice lists everything stored in your browser.

The Blockchain waitlist

  • Your email address, the page you joined from, and when you joined.
  • To send you one confirmation, then news about the ATON launch. That is the whole purpose.
  • The list is copied to our email provider, Resend, to send those emails.
  • We do not sell or lend your address to anybody.

The support chat

  • The chat in the corner of every page is ATON Desk, our own live chat, run by us. It takes general questions about ATON and this site.
  • Before a chat starts, it asks for your name and email address. It keeps those, your messages, and any files you share, so we can answer you and pick up where you left off.
  • It also keeps the page you started on (without anything after a question mark), the page that sent you there, your browser in broad terms such as "Chrome on Windows", and your approximate location (country, region, city and time zone) from Cloudflare. These details of your visit are deleted after 90 days.
  • Your IP address is not stored with your conversation. To stop floods of messages, the chat counts requests by a one-way code made from the address, and those counts are deleted within a day.
  • Our assistant answers first. Your messages in the chat are sent to Anthropic, whose AI models write its answers. Anthropic handles them only to answer, and does not use them to train its models. The assistant always says it is an AI, and a person from our team takes over when you ask.
  • When the chat says so, our team can see what you are typing before you send it, so they can prepare an answer.
  • A copy of the chat can be emailed to you, only at an address you have confirmed with a code we send you. The code email contains none of what you wrote.
  • The chat keeps a random code in your browser's storage, so it can show you your own conversation when you come back. It is not used to follow you anywhere else.

03Who else sees it

Each of these sees only the part it needs, and may use it only for that.

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
Amazon Web Services Canada, Inc.The waitlist, the chat, its files and the server logs, in our database, servers, file storage and backups, and the page load times and errors our monitoring recordsHosting and performance monitoring
CloudflareYour IP address, the pages you ask for, and what your browser sends. If the chat is very busy, a check that you are a personProtecting and delivering this site and the chat

AnthropicYour messages in the chat, and the help articles the assistant answers fromWriting the assistant's answers

The people on our team who answer the chat see your conversation. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.

Removed 15 October 2026: DigitalOcean, LLC (hosting in Toronto), when we moved to AWS.

04Where it is held

  • Our database, the chat's files and their backups are with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Canada, in its Montreal region (ca-central-1). Backup copies are kept in Canada too, in AWS's Calgary region.
  • Two parts of our own systems run outside Canada, and neither holds customer data: we collect public market data (the prices and trades exchanges publish) in the United States (Virginia) and the United Kingdom (London), and our test systems run in the United States.
  • Resend, Cloudflare and Anthropic work from other countries, mostly the United States, so the assistant's answers are written outside Canada. There, the law may let authorities reach the information.

06Your rights

Under state privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, you can ask us to:

  • See what we hold.
  • Correct it.
  • Have it deleted.
  • Take it elsewhere.
  • Object to how we use it.
  • Complain to a regulator.

We answer within forty-five days.

You can also complain to your state attorney general, or the California Privacy Protection Agency.

To leave the waitlist, use the link in any email we send, or reply to the confirmation. When you leave, we stop writing to you and delete your address from the list.

To get a copy of a support chat, or have it deleted, ask us in the chat or by email. We delete it unless it is evidence for an order, a dispute or a project, and we tell you if so.

To ask for any of these: privacy@aton-network.org

07Keeping it safe

  • Everything travels encrypted.
  • This site reaches its database with a login that can add an address to the waitlist and do nothing else: it cannot read, change or delete a single one.
  • Our database accepts connections only from our own servers.
  • If something goes wrong that puts your information at real risk, we tell you and the regulators the law requires us to tell.

08Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, we publish a new version with its date, and earlier versions stay readable on this page. A change that affects the waitlist is sent to the people on it. See also the terms.
