AtheronBlockchain

An illustration of blocks laid into one agreed order. It is not live network data.

What shipped, when.

Every change to the public repositories, dated, in the words of the people who made it.

Contents on long articles, and what to read next

A long blog article now opens with a table of contents that links to each of its sections, and every article ends with up to three more to read next, on the same subject first. Each article still says how long it takes to read.

  2. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.2.0

Our release of 15 October. You can now choose Dark, Light or Follow system at the bottom of every page, long blog articles open with their contents and end with what to read next, and the privacy and cookie notices have a new version dated 15 October.

  3. changedatheron-site

The release notice comes down when the release is done

The notice now shows above the menu bar from two days before each release day, and comes down as soon as the release is complete, never later than the end of the day. You can close it, and it stays closed until the next release. It is in your language, in this site's own colour.

  4. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.1.5

Version 0.1.5, an emergency patch, came out on 13 October. The bottom of every page shows the version beside the copyright line.

  5. addedatheron-site

    Dark, Light or Follow system

The site was dark only. Its footer now offers System, Dark and Light, and the page changes at once. Your browser remembers your choice, and until you choose, the site follows your device. Light keeps the chain's indigo, deepened so every text stays easy to read, and the pictures behind each heading switch with the page. The choices are in all five languages.

  6. addedatheron-site

A notice before every release day

Every page now shows a short notice at the top from two days before each release day until the day ends, in your language. Release days are the 15th and the 30th of each month, or the Friday before when that date falls on a weekend, and in February the last day of the month. On a release day a page may pause for a moment while the new version goes live.

  7. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.1.4

Version 0.1.4, an emergency patch, came out on 8 October. The bottom of every page shows the version beside the copyright line.

  8. fixedatheron-site

Two libraries past their security advisories

Two libraries this site is built with, one that resizes pictures and one the build uses, had published security advisories. Both are updated to their fixed releases, and nothing else changes. This release is a security patch.

  9. addedatheron-site

    The network site is finished

This site is marked done on our progress tracker: what the chain is, the coin, the fair launch, the Blockchain waitlist, a live roadmap, a blog and a press page, all in five languages. Before it was marked, every page was checked in all five languages, along with its links and its accessibility.

  10. fixedatheron-site

The French, Spanish, German and Urdu pages in their own languages again

Since launch, the pages under /fr, /es, /de and /ur answered in English, although the translations were all there. The site now passes on the language you asked for, so each address shows its own language, with Urdu right to left.

  11. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.1.3

Version 0.1.3, an emergency patch, came out on 7 October. The bottom of every page shows the version beside the copyright line.

  12. addedatheron-brand

Chain, Desk, members and team each in their own colour

Four of our sites and portals now have a look of their own. The ATON Blockchain site is electric indigo, ATON Desk is electric magenta, the members portal and sign-in are electric orange, and the team portal is electric silver. The trading site keeps its original blues.

  13. addedatheron-brand

The progress tracker in electric lime

Our progress tracker has a look of its own: electric lime running into jade, with its own logo, icons, typefaces and profile pictures.

  14. addedatheron-brand

The careers site in electric coral

Our careers site has a look of its own: electric coral, with its own logo that reads CAREERS beneath it, its own icons and its own pictures for the press kit.

  15. changedatheron-site

One press kit, the same on every site

The press kit on each of our sites now has the same sections in the same order: what the product is, words you can quote, the logos, colours and typefaces, pictures of the site, the company facts and how to reach us. You can download everything in one file.

  16. addedatheron-brand

Our logos without the trademark sign

Our logo files no longer carry the trademark sign or the old slogan, and the coin no longer has words around the bottom of its ring. The press kits offer these clean versions.

  17. addedatheron-site

Bold words, quotes, tables and code in our articles

Our blog articles can now use bold and italic words, quotes, and boxes marked Tip, Note or Warning. They can also hold tables and short pieces of code, coloured to make them easier to read. A table or a piece of code wider than your screen scrolls sideways in its own box, so the page itself never does. Headings can also be set in our plain typeface instead of the display one.

  18. addedatheron-site

Pictures and videos in our articles

Our blog articles can now show pictures, YouTube videos and posts on X. Pictures keep their space while they load, so the page does not jump. A video shows a still and a play button, and nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. A post on X is a link to it, and nothing loads from X.

  19. changedatheron-site

Articles in English on other language pages

Some blog articles are written in English and French only. On the Spanish, German and Urdu pages they now show in English, marked as English, with a link to the French where there is one, instead of being left out.

  20. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.1.1

Version 0.1.1, an emergency patch, came out on 6 October. The bottom of every page shows the version beside the copyright line.

  21. changedatheron-site

    This site is version 0.1.2

Version 0.1.2, an emergency patch, came out on 6 October. The bottom of every page shows the version beside the copyright line.

  22. addedatheron-site

The version at the bottom of every page

The bottom of every page now shows which version of the site you are looking at, what kind of update it was and the day it came out, next to our copyright line. It is in your language, and it changes each time we update the site.

  23. changedatheron-site

One wide menu panel for every item

Each menu item now opens one wide panel with its links in columns, each with a title on one line and a short description, and a card on the right with our newest article. Nothing is cut short. On a phone the menu fills the screen and each section opens with a tap, and the menus work fully with a keyboard.

  24. fixedatheron-site

A faster check of the block scenes

The check that the moving block scenes at the top of our pages draw blocks in the right order now runs in a fraction of the time. It checks exactly the same rules.

  25. changedatheron-site

    Tidier menus

The links in the menu panels now sit in compact rows, each with its icon beside its title, and every link is easy to tap.

  26. fixedatheron-site

Headings that fit in two lines

Some headings in French, Spanish and German ran onto a third line on some screens. We reworded 53 of them to be shorter with the same meaning, so every heading now fits in two lines on any screen.

  27. changedatheron-site

Every page, complete in five languages

The site cannot go live unless every word is there in English, French, Spanish, German and Urdu. A missing line in any of them now stops it before it reaches you.

  28. changedatheron-site

Confirm your place on the waitlist

When you join the Blockchain waitlist, we send one email with a link to confirm your address. You are on the list once you follow it, and we send nothing else until you do. An address that is not confirmed within 30 days is deleted.

  29. addedatheron-site

A map and our details on the contact page

The contact page now shows a map of our office, our mailing address, our phone number and our Business Number with the Canadian flag, all taken from the company's own record. Choosing what your message is about is now a simple menu that works with a keyboard and a screen reader.

  30. changedatheron-site

    Our city, not our street

What the site tells search engines about us now gives our city, province and country, not our street. We have no shop you can visit, and a street address suggested one. Our full registered office is still in the footer and on the legal pages.

  31. addedatheron-site

    Call us from any page

Our phone number is now at the bottom of every page and on the contact page. On a phone, tap it to call. It comes from the company's own record, so when the number changes, the site changes with it.

  32. changedatheron-site

Footer links big enough for a finger

On a phone, every link at the bottom of the page is now big enough for a finger. The row of legal pages runs onto a second line when it does not fit the screen, instead of hiding its last pages past the edge.

  33. fixedatheron-site

Easier to use on a phone

Every link and button in the menu is now big enough for a finger, the page behind the open menu stays still so the keyboard cannot wander onto it, and filling in a form on a phone no longer leaves the page zoomed in.

  34. addedatheron-site

    A blog, in every language

The site now has a blog, the last item in the menu, in all five languages. Articles are by our founder, Shawn Wilson, and each one is approved before it appears. You can subscribe by email: we ask you to confirm your address first, and every email has a link to unsubscribe.

  35. addedatheron-brand

Our logo on Google's sign-in screen

When you sign in to our live chat app, ATON Desk, with a Google account, Google's own screen now shows the Desk logo, drawn sharp on our dark background so it looks the same as everywhere else.

  36. fixedatheron-site

A word check that reads Spanish properly

The check that keeps sales language off this site mistook the Spanish word for research for sales talk. It now tells the two apart, and still stops anything that reads like a sale.

  37. addedatheron-brand

Link previews drawn in our own faces

When a link to one of our sites is shared, the preview now shows a picture drawn in our own typefaces: the Atheron logo on a dark panel, the site's name and its headline. Urdu is drawn in the same Nastaliq face the sites use.

  38. addedatheron-site

    A Contact page

A Contact page, in all five languages and linked from every menu. Pick what your message is about and write it: questions about ATON reach the same team as the chat, and partnership and press messages reach the people who handle them. We never ask for a seed phrase or a private key, and if you need help we confirm your email address with a short code first, so our answer reaches only you.

  39. addedatheron-site

A picture with every shared link

Share a link to any page and the preview now shows a picture with the site's name and its headline, in the language of the page you shared.

  40. addedatheron-site

Our legal pages in every language

The terms, the privacy notice and every other legal page now read in French, Spanish, German and Urdu as well as English. The English and French versions count equally. The Spanish, German and Urdu versions are there to help you read them, and each one links back to the English.

  41. fixedatheron-site

Spanish and German headings, in our own type

The site picked up the new letters in our typefaces, so a Spanish or German heading no longer borrows letters from another typeface, and nothing on the page moved to make room for them.

  42. addedatheron-brand

Spanish and German letters in our typefaces

Our display typeface now has the accented letters Spanish and German need, the German sharp s, and the Spanish opening question and exclamation marks. Our text typeface has the capital sharp s too, so a Spanish or German heading comes out entirely in our own type.

  43. changedatheron-site

    This changelog, in plain words

Every entry on this page is now written for somebody who does not work in IT, in all five languages. Words in other alphabets keep their place in Urdu sentences, and French has the spacing French uses.

  44. changedatheron-site

    A tidier footer

The bottom of every page now carries our company's mark beside its name, a link to our press kit, and the legal pages on one line, in your language.

  45. addedatheron-site

Easy to find, for people and for assistants

Search engines and AI assistants can now read every page, with a map of the site and a short summary written for assistants. Every page tells a search engine which language it is in and where its other four languages are.

  46. removedatheron-brand

Our logos always sit on a dark panel

Our logos are always shown on a dark panel, even on a white page, because the silver lettering is hard to read on white. The press kit no longer offers a version for light backgrounds.

  47. addedatheron-site

    A press kit

A press kit, linked from the bottom of every page, in five languages: our logos in this site's colours, ready to download, how to place them, what not to do with them, our colours with their codes, and our typefaces by name. Font files are not offered.

  48. changedatheron-site

A sharper check on the chat

The check that keeps our support chat on every page now tests what matters to you, that the chat is there, rather than exactly where on the page it sits.

  49. addedatheron-brand

Our logos, ready for the press

We prepared our logos for a press kit: the full logo, the wordmark and the symbol, each in the colours of the site that offers it. Each comes as a drawing that scales to any size and as images at the sizes people usually need. Versions of the logo that carry a slogan are not offered.

  50. changedatheron-site

How our name and logos may be used

The brand page now says how the ATON name and logos may be used, with a link to the full policy.

  51. addedatheron-site

Every legal page, with every version kept

Five more legal pages: risks, how to report a security problem, how our names and logos may be used, cookies, and accessibility. Every legal page is dated, and every earlier version stays readable on the same page.

  52. addedatheron-site

Chat with us, on every page

Every page now has our support chat in the corner. You give your name and email, our assistant answers first, and a person takes over when you ask.

  53. changedatheron-site

Every heading fits in two lines

Each page now opens with a short title and a one-line tagline, and every heading fits in two lines on a phone, a tablet and a desk. The facts under them are the same.

  54. changedatheron-brand

Every site gets exactly the same logo files

The icons and colour files our sites read are now kept beside the originals they are made from, so every site gets exactly the same files.

  55. addedatheron-brand

French letters in our display typeface

Our display typeface now has the accented letters French needs, French quotation marks, and common symbols such as the ampersand and the per cent sign, so a French heading comes out entirely in our own type.

  56. changedatheron-site

French headings, in our own type

The site picked up the new accented letters in our display typeface, and nothing on the page moved to make room for them.

  57. fixedatheron-brand

Checking our icons without touching them

The check that our icons are up to date now compares a fresh copy against the published ones and changes nothing. Before, it could let an out-of-date icon through without noticing.

  58. changedatheron-site

Never more than one billion ATON

The site now says what the specification settles: there will never be more than one billion ATON, and the coin is called ATON. The progress shown at the top is the chain's own, and the Blockchain label beside the logo shows on every screen.

  59. addedatheron-spec

    One billion, and never more

There will never be more than one billion ATON. Miners keep being paid for good from a small reward that shrinks over time inside that limit. The coin is called ATON. The shape of the reward over time is not decided yet.

  60. addedatheron-site

    The chain's own site

This site became the ATON chain's own, at aton-chain.com, looking and working like the rest of Atheron. The pictures at the top of each page show blocks arriving side by side and falling into one agreed order, worked out by the chain's own rule.

  61. addedatheron-spec

Blocks may be made side by side

The specification settles that blocks may be made side by side rather than strictly one after another, with one rule that puts them all in a single order every node agrees on. How often blocks are made and the rule's exact settings are not decided yet.

  62. addedatheron-site

How far the build has come, at the top of every page

A small button at the top of every page shows how far the build has come and whether our public services are working. Open it for the detail, or read the same figures in the strip under the front page's opening.

  63. addedatheron-site

A home page and a public changelog

A home page, this changelog and a build tracker replaced a single page of colours. Only our public work appears in the changelog, and an entry from anywhere else is turned away twice before it could ever be shown.

  64. addedatheron-site

    Our brand on one page

A page that shows our colours and typefaces exactly as the sites use them, so anyone can check them at a glance.

  65. addedatheron-brand

Our colours and type come from one place

The colours and typefaces every site uses are written down once, and each site reads them from there. A check makes sure every site still matches, so a colour cannot quietly drift on one page.
